Kelly Davis and David Thompson were awarded the 2008 Rusty Coffman Memorial Scholarships at graduation ceremonies in June at Narrows High School. Each received a $3,000 scholarship toward furthering their education.

The scholarship honors the late Robert “Rusty” Coffman Jr., a Giles County native and graduate of Narrows High School, who died in 2002 of renal cell cancer at the age of 41. Proceeds were funded by the annual Rusty Coffman Memorial Golf Tournament.
